There’s a new free plugin making the rounds called Scream by Cure Audio, and it’s a pretty interesting one—especially if you’ve ever used Native Instruments Massive.
What makes it stand out is that it recreates the iconic “Scream” filter from Massive, but as a standalone effect you can drop into any DAW. That alone is a cool idea—taking a well-loved part of a synth and turning it into its own plugin. This isn’t a “polite” studio filter.
As the name suggests, it’s designed to push your audio to the edge, adding resonance, grit, and harmonic movement that can turn even the most boring synth line into a screaming lead.
