There’s a new free plugin on the radar, and it’s actually doing something a bit different from the usual synth or effect drop. Bloomer Free by Freequency is more of a creative tool than a traditional instrument—it’s designed to generate chord progressions based on emotion rather than strict theory.
The idea is simple but pretty clever. Instead of digging through scales and building chords manually, you just pick a key, choose a scale, dial in a “vibe,” and set how many bars you want. From there, the plugin generates a progression you can drag straight into your DAW as MIDI.
It’s a really fast way to get ideas flowing, especially if you’re stuck staring at an empty piano roll. What stands out is the vibe system. There are dozens of emotional presets—everything from light and uplifting to darker, more introspective moods.
