Shadaloo Audio DSP has introduced APD Compressor, a new vocal-focused dynamics plugin that’s available as a free (pay-what-you-want) download for Windows and macOS.
Rather than being a general-purpose compressor, APD Compressor is designed specifically for vocal processing, offering a streamlined set of controls that make it quick to dial in polished, consistent vocal levels.
One standout feature is the Texture control, which adds subtle harmonic saturation before the compression stage, giving vocals extra warmth and presence without needing a separate saturation plugin.
The plugin also uses adaptive compression behavior, allowing the attack and release to respond naturally to the incoming signal for a smoother, more musical result.
