When it comes to cabinet simulation and tube amp modeling, Two Notes Audio Engineering has long been a heavyweight in both live and studio production. Now, they’ve launched GENOME Intro+—a permanent, full-featured freeware edition of their flagship amp modeling and virtual backline platform.
The free version is designed as an entry point into the larger GENOME ecosystem, but it’s more than just a stripped-down demo. It comes with a selection of amp models, pedals, DynIR virtual cabinets, and studio effects, along with the full rig-building and signal-chain workflow.
One of the more interesting features is its CODEX engine, which lets you load compatible amp captures from formats including Neural Amp Modeler, AIDA-X, and Proteus.
The included amps cover a useful range of tones, from classic American and British-style sounds to high-gain and bass options, while the pedals and studio effects give you enough tools to build complete rigs.
