Arturia has released Pigments Play, a completely free software synthesizer that runs on the same powerful engine as their full Pigments instrument.

It’s not the complete version, but it gives you a solid, approachable taste of what Pigments can do — kind of like their earlier Analog Lab Play. You get 100 carefully selected presets made by professional sound designers. The sounds cover a wide range of modern styles.

The whole point of Pigments Play is quick browsing and simple sound shaping. Instead of the full, deep Pigments interface, you get a clean, focused “Play” view that reacts visually as you play and tweak.

You can easily tweak each sound using a simple set of macro controls without diving into complex synthesis.
