Sonible just dropped something really cool today: a completely free saturation plugin called puffer:fish. If you’re into mixing and want to add some character without overcomplicating things, this one might become your new go-to toy.
The whole concept revolves around three distinct “characters” from subtle to agressive — each represented by an adorable, reactive pufferfish that puffs up as you crank the effect. It’s whimsical, but the sound quality is 100% serious Sonible caliber.
Don’t be fooled by the playful UI, though; underneath the hood, this thing packs the same high-end audio algorithms found in Sonible’s professional series.
