Audio Assault has just released VoiceOfReason, a free VST plugin that takes a refreshingly different approach compared to most audio tools. Instead of promising some revolutionary secret sauce, it openly embraces a very specific processing technique focused on shaping low-end frequencies.
The plugin is designed to help tighten and focus bass-heavy elements such as kick drums, bass guitars, 808s, and synths. It can also add a bit more weight to vocals and help clean up muddy low-end buildup in a mix.
While the effect itself is fairly simple, it can be useful when you’re looking for a quick way to experiment with low-frequency shaping.
